Authorised distributor Mouser Electronics is now stocking the new Astra Machina SL2600 development kit from Synaptics.
This kit is designed for easy and rapid prototyping of multimodal, AI-native, smart home, industrial, healthcare, robotics, and consumer IoT applications.
The kit enables advanced Edge AI and visual intelligence by bringing multimodal, transformer-class inference directly onto embedded IoT hardware.
The Astra platform reduces software lock-in by centring its Edge AI stack (Torq) on mainstream open-source building blocks like Yocto Linux, and a non-proprietary compiler/runtime based on IREE/MLIR.
The SL2600 kit’s modular hardware architecture features a configurable compute module, I/O baseboard, and expandable daughter cards to support rapid prototyping of real-world vision systems with integrated connectivity, programmable I/O, and production-aligned interfaces. The daughter card interface options include MIPI DSISM, MIPI CSI-2, a 40-pin JTAG header, and a 4-pin PoE+ connector.
