As India advances toward self-reliance in manufacturing under the Make in India initiative, ZETWERK has strengthened its role in localized electronics production by partnering with a leading Indian mobile accessories brand to accelerate smartwatch manufacturing in the country.
The collaboration aimed to shift smartwatch production from overseas to India, supporting domestic manufacturing while significantly reducing time-to-market for new products. The mobile accessories brand set an ambitious target of delivering its first batch of domestically manufactured smartwatches within 100 days.
To meet this challenge, the brand partnered with ZETWERK, leveraging its expertise in Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) and Original Design Manufacturing (ODM). ZETWERK provided end-to-end manufacturing support, covering design, production, and final assembly.
The first batch of 10,000 smartwatches was delivered ahead of schedule, meeting the 100-day deadline. The dedicated EMS and ODM facility established for the project has a monthly production capacity of 100,000 units, enabling scalable and sustained manufacturing operations.
Beyond meeting initial timelines, the partnership focused on long-term manufacturing excellence. By localizing production and streamlining operations, the collaboration has enabled a consistent supply of innovative consumer electronics products while strengthening the brand’s presence in India’s competitive electronics market.
A key enabler of the project was ZETWERK’s proprietary manufacturing operating system, which provided real-time visibility into production progress. The platform facilitated transparent communication, enabling timely decision-making and fostering trust between both organizations.
The partnership highlights how innovation, collaboration, and localized manufacturing can accelerate India’s electronics ecosystem.
